Oh, the Joys of Moving...Again!
The day after my appointment with Dr. Doom, we were all set to move to our new apartment. We were finally moving out of the place that came to represent bad news, and discouragement. The two weeks we spent there rough, but God taught us a lot while we were there. For one, always make sure God is in the decision you're making, even when it seems like the most practical and obvious choice. Two, always make sure to inspect the apartment you're moving into before you sign the lease and move in (you'd think it would be a no-brainer!) Three, even when you completely miss the mark and blow it, God is still directing and guiding your steps to bring out good in every situation!
Amazingly, we were able to find a 2 bedroom apartment for an even better deal in a better location! Because we were patient to wait for the right apartment to open up, we were getting all new carpet throughout the apartment and new linoleum. When we first walked into our new apartment, we had peace. It's not the newest and greatest out their, but for us we knew it was going to be home and our hearts were filled with gratitude for it. So, we put aside the concerns and emotions of the day before, and just tackled the task ahead of us to move all of our stuff....again. We are so thankful to all the people that came out to help us for round 2! Because of everyone that showed up, it took us 2 hours to move everything! (The first time, it took us over 9 hours to move!)
At the end of the day, as we sat around a mess of boxes and scattered furniture, we had a peace and a joyful expectation that we were where God wanted us. We were home, and we could finally settle in and rest.
